Where Are You

John 10:7-11

Pastor Wayne Holcomb

Where Are You | Surrender, Nearness to Christ, Obedience, and the Shepherd's Care - John v10:7-11 Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and in Him we are not lacking anything. From John v10:7-11, we see that He is both the door and the protector of His sheep, laying down His life so we can be saved and kept. The question is not whether He is faithful, but whether we are staying near to Him or drifting toward the edge where temptation, compromise, and self-will grow stronger. In John v6, many walked away when His words became hard, but Peter answered, _"To whom shall we go?"_ Christ alone has the words of eternal life. Through 1 John v4:9-11, we are reminded that God's love is fully revealed in Jesus, who turned away wrath by giving Himself for our sins. Nearness to Christ means more than receiving help in trouble; it means surrendering all, trusting His will, and letting His love flow through us to others.

Psalm 139

Known Completely

25 min

Known Completely | God’s Omniscience, God’s Presence, Life in the Womb, and a Pure Heart - Psalm v139 God knows us completely—our thoughts, our words, our steps, and even the days of our lives before they unfold. In Psalm v139, we are reminded that there is nowhere we can run from His presence and nothing hidden from His sight. What feels overwhelming becomes a deep comfort: the Lord sees us fully and still holds us in His hand. From the womb to eternity, God’s care is personal and purposeful. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, formed by His design and never forgotten. Because He knows us so intimately, our right response is not to hide, but to surrender—asking Him to search our hearts, cleanse what is sinful, and lead us in the everlasting way with clean hands and a pure heart.

Psalm 24:3-5

Clean Hands Pure Heart

41 min

Clean Hands Pure Heart | Holiness, Truth, Spiritual Warfare, and Judgment - Psalm v24:3-5 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Psalm v24 answers with a searching call to live before God with clean hands and a pure heart. Truth is not optional for the believer; it is the ground we stand on, the armor we wear, and the path where mercy and righteousness are found. God does not call us to vanity, pretense, or self-rule, but to honest repentance, holy living, and a heart that longs to please Him. From Psalm v24, Psalm v25, Psalm v26, and 1 Peter v4:17, we are reminded that judgment must begin at the house of God. The Lord examines us, teaches us, and calls us to walk in humility while resisting the enemy’s attacks. His house is to be loved, His people are to be prayed for, and our lives are to shine with obedience. In Christ, righteousness is not something we fake; it is what we seek as we submit to Him, turn from sin, and follow Him with reverent faith.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Suit Up for Battle

39 min

Suit Up for Battle | Spiritual Warfare, Truth, Prayer, and Salvation - Ephesians v6:10-18 We are in a real spiritual battle, and our strength is never enough on its own. In Ephesians v6:10-18, God calls us to be strong in His might, to recognize that our true enemy is not flesh and blood, and to stand firm against the devil’s schemes. Victory begins when we stop trusting ourselves and learn to rely on the Lord. God’s armor covers every part of life with what we desperately need: truth to hold us steady, righteousness to guard the heart, the gospel of peace to ground our steps, faith to quench the enemy’s fiery darts, and salvation to protect the mind. The Word of God is our sword, and prayer is not a last resort but a constant lifeline. We are also reminded that forgiveness in Jesus Christ is our greatest need. Salvation is not found in human effort, but in believing the gospel, confessing our sin, yielding our will, and trusting the Savior who gave Himself for us. In every struggle, we are called to stand, persevere, and keep believing.

Psalm 51:1-12

Restore My Joy

29 min

Restore My Joy | Repentance, Cleansing from Sin, Conviction, and Obedience - Psalm v51:1-12 Psalm v51:1-12 brings us into the broken heart of David as he cries for mercy, cleansing, and renewal after sin. We are reminded that sin is never small. It stains the soul, troubles the mind, burdens the heart, and robs us of the joy God gives to His obedient children. Yet the same God who convicts also invites us to come clean before Him and ask, _Create in me a clean heart, O God_. There is hope for every repentant sinner because God's mercy is greater than our failure. When we stop excusing sin and confess it before the Lord, He restores what disobedience has damaged. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation becomes the cry of every believer who longs to walk closely with God again. In the end, our deepest needs are answered in Jesus Christ, who bore our sin at the cross and rose again so we can be forgiven, cleansed, and given eternal life.

Micah 6:8

What the Lord Requires

35 min

What the Lord Requires | Justice, Mercy, Humility, and Obedience - Micah v6:8 Micah v6:8 calls us away from casual Christianity and into a life that truly honors God. He has already shown us what is good, and He requires more than empty religion. Our lives are to reflect justice, mercy, and humility as we walk closely with Him. To do justly means our actions must be fair, moral, and shaped by truth in a confused world. To love mercy means we do not merely show compassion when it is convenient, but cherish the grace we have received and gladly extend it to others. To walk humbly with God means laying down pride, remembering that every blessing is from His hand, and living in daily dependence on Him. Jesus fulfills this perfectly. At the cross He made payment for sin, showed mercy even to His enemies, and humbled Himself to serve. Since we are not graded on our goodness but on the cross, the only right response is to come to Him in faith and live the kind of life He requires.

Luke 8:15 Broken for Fruitfulness Broken for Fruitfulness | Good Soil, Holiness, Spiritual Fruit, and Justifying Grace - Luke v8:15 God breaks up the hard places in us so His Word can take root and bear lasting fruit. In Luke v8:15, the good ground is an honest and good heart that hears the Word, keeps it, and brings forth fruit with patience. What feels like plowing, pruning, and discipline is often the mercy of God preparing us to live for Him. Hebrews v12:9-11 reminds us that the Father's correction is for our profit, that we might share in His holiness. Though discipline is not pleasant in the moment, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Through Romans v5:1-2, we rest in the gospel itself: justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and by grace we stand in hope. The heart Christ can use is the heart surrendered, softened, and made fruitful by Him. #ConditionsOfTheHeart #GoodSoil #Brokenness #SpiritualFruit #Holiness #Righteousness #Discipline #JustificationByFaith #Grace #PeaceWithGod 30 min Luke 8:14 Lost in the Weeds Lost in the Weeds | Worldly Cares, Stewardship, Generosity, and Fruitfulness - Luke v8:14 Our hearts cannot bear lasting fruit when they are choked by the weeds of this world. In Luke v8:14, Jesus warns that the seed can be crowded out by cares and riches and pleasures of this life, leaving a life that never comes to full harvest. God calls us to examine what is growing in us and to remember that whatever we sow, we will also reap. Worldly worry steals today’s joy, the love of money distorts eternal values, and the pursuit of stuff can quietly take mastery over us. Yet the Lord is faithful to help us cultivate a fruitful heart. As we stay near the Master Gardener, trust Him for today, and steward His gifts with humility and generosity, our lives can be cleared of choking weeds and shaped for His glory. #ConditionsOfTheHeart #ThornySoil #WorldlyCares #SowingAndReaping #Stewardship #Generosity #Worry #LoveOfMoney #SpiritualFruitfulness 31 min Luke 8:5-15 Conditions of the Heart Conditions of the Heart | hardened hearts, shallow faith, spiritual fruit, and rooted trust - Luke v8:5-15 God desires fruitful, rooted lives that are nourished by His truth and shaped by His presence. From Luke v8:5-15, we see that the condition of the heart determines what happens when the Word of God is sown. A hardened heart is beaten down by sin, hurt, distraction, and the pull of this world until the seed lies exposed and is quickly stolen away. A shallow heart may respond with joy for a moment, yet without deep roots it withers when temptation, trouble, or pressure comes. We need more than a quick response; we need a life watered by Scripture, softened by the Holy Spirit, and anchored in Christ. Psalm v1 and Jeremiah v17:7-8 call us to be like trees planted by the waters—steady, green, and still bearing fruit even in dry seasons. #HeartCondition #SpiritualFruit #HardenedHeart #ShallowFaith #RootedInScripture #Temptation #WorldlyDistractions #HolySpirit #TrustInTheLord 34 min John 14:6 Only One Way Only One Way | Jesus Christ, the Son of God, truth, and salvation by grace - John v14:6 Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, and our faith must rest in the true and living God revealed through the Son. From John v14:6 and the wider witness of John’s Gospel, we are reminded that God is not distant, unknowable, or changing. In Jesus, the Father is made known, and eternal life is found through Him alone. The heart of the gospel stands firm: God loved the world, gave His only begotten Son, and sent Him in the flesh to bear our sin and rise again. That truth separates biblical Christianity from every false hope. We are not saved by works, fear, or uncertainty, but by grace through faith in Christ. So we must be discerning, grounded in God’s Word, and bold without bitterness. Truth is not unloving when it points us to the Savior. As we draw near to the last days, we hold fast to the gospel, stand against deception, and confess with confidence that salvation is in Jesus Christ alone. #JesusChrist #ExclusiveTruth #SonOfGod #SalvationByGrace #Discernment #FalseReligion #Deception #BoldFaith 30 min 2 Corinthians 5:21 Come the Way of the Cross Come the Way of the Cross | Salvation by Faith, Joy of Salvation, Church Revival, and Eternal Hope - 2 Corinthians v5:21 Jesus Christ has done everything necessary for our salvation, and we must personally respond in faith. From 2 Corinthians v5:21, we see the heart of the gospel: the sinless Son took our sin so that we might receive His righteousness. We cannot stand right with God by good intentions, hard seasons, or a respectable life. We come only by the cross. There is deep joy in finally surrendering to the Lord and discovering that His grace changes everything. The same God who saves also revives, restores, and blesses lives that are fully yielded to Him. He is no respecter of persons, and what He has done for one He is able to do for another. Good works and kind reputations cannot secure heaven. Eternal life is received when we _activate_ what Christ has done by faith, trusting in Jesus alone. The cross is not just a story to admire; it is the only way to be forgiven, made righteous, and given everlasting hope. #SalvationByFaith #TheCross #RighteousnessInChrist #JoyOfSalvation #PersonalSurrender #ChurchRevival #EternalLife #Grace #AssuranceOfHeaven 8 min John 21:15-17 Do You Love Me Do You Love Me | New Beginnings, Agape Love, Restored Purpose, and Assurance - John v21:15-17 Jesus meets us after failure with grace, not rejection. In John v21, Peter comes face to face with the risen Lord after denying Him, and the question that matters most still comes to us: _Do you love Me more than these?_ Christ does not leave His children in shame. He restores, renews, and calls us forward again. Peter cannot boast in his own strength anymore, but he can come honestly to Jesus. That is where healing begins. The Lord brings Peter from brokenness to purpose, and He still gives new beginnings to those who have fallen, doubted, or grown weary. His mercies are new every morning, and real joy is found not in comfort, success, or possessions, but in loving Jesus above all. Agape love becomes the mark of a surrendered life. When we love Christ first, we can serve others, endure hardship, and walk with deeper assurance. This life is brief, eternity is real, and today is the day to follow Him wholeheartedly. #AgapeLove #Restoration #NewBeginnings #LovingJesusFirst #AssuranceOfSalvation #Purpose #JoyInTrials #Discipleship 29 min Revelation 13:6 Something Better Ahead Something Better Ahead | Heaven, Eternal Joy, Spiritual Warfare, and Gospel Hope - Revelation v13:6 Heaven is not a vague wish or a dull eternity — it is the sure and glorious home God has prepared for His people. From Revelation v13:6 and Isaiah v14:12-15, we are reminded that Satan slanders God's person, God's people, and God's place, seeking to rob us of joy, anticipation, and a heavenly mind. But in Christ, our hope is alive. Jesus shed innocent blood for sin so we could be cleansed, forgiven, and welcomed into the presence of God. Heaven is not endless emptiness or lifeless repetition; it is fullness, restoration, and joy beyond anything this fallen world can offer. When our hearts are fixed on what is to come, we endure present trials, resist the enemy's lies, and live as pilgrims who know there is something far better ahead. #Heaven #EternalHope #JoyInTrials #SpiritualWarfare #Satan'sLies #GospelHope #Atonement #PilgrimLife #NewCreation 27 min John 14:1-3 When Heaven Is Home When Heaven Is Home | Eternal Hope, Freedom from Fear, Heaven, and Salvation - John v14:1-3 Heaven is not a wishful idea but a promised reality for all who belong to Jesus Christ. In John v14:1-3, He comforts troubled hearts with the assurance that He is preparing a place for us and that He will come again to receive us to Himself. Our true citizenship is not rooted in this fading world, but in the everlasting home God has made ready for His people. Revelation v21:1-5 lifts our eyes to the day when God dwells with us, wipes away every tear, and removes death, sorrow, crying, and pain forever. Because Jesus has conquered sin and death, we do not have to live in bondage to fear. Life is brief, eternity is real, and the call is urgent: turn from sin, trust Christ fully, and live with joyful expectation for the home that will never pass away. #Heaven #EternalHope #FearOfDeath #Salvation #SecondComing #EternalLife #Repentance #AssuranceInChrist 33 min Proverbs 18:10 The Strong Tower The Strong Tower | Innocent Blood, Courage in Dark Times, Godly Conviction, and Safety in Christ - Proverbs v18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; when fear rises, darkness closes in, and the world seems unsteady, the righteous can run to Him and be safe. From Proverbs v18:10 and Genesis v4:9-11, we are reminded that innocent blood matters to God, sin brings death, and human hearts drift quickly when they turn from His truth. Yet the Lord still calls us to live with courage, conviction, and compassion. We are our brother’s keeper, and we must value life, stand for what is right, and refuse the compromise that tries to mix God’s way with the world’s way. Even when the hour is dark, God does not lose His power, and His people do not have to lose heart. Above all, our hope rests in Jesus Christ. Without His innocent blood shed for us, we would have no hope at all. The refuge we need is not found in ourselves, but in the Savior whose sacrifice brings forgiveness, safety, and eternal life to all who flee to Him by faith. #InnocentBlood #SanctityOfLife #Courage #GodlyConviction #RefugeInGod #SafetyInChrist #Perseverance #TheBloodOfJesus 30 min Ezra 8:21-23 The Hand of Our God The hand of our God is upon those who seek Him. In Ezra v8:21-23, we see a people fasting, humbling themselves, and trusting the Lord to lead them safely. That same confidence carried the pilgrims across uncertainty and hardship as they longed to worship God freely and walk in obedience before Him. From Psalm v107:23-31, we are reminded that God rules the storm, hears the cry of the troubled, and brings His people into their desired haven. Freedom is a gift that must never be separated from truth, righteousness, and dependence on the Lord. As darkness grows, Christ still calls His people to shine. We are not to hide the light, but to live so faithfully that others see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. #God'sProtection #ReligiousLiberty #FastingAndPrayer #TrustingGodInHardship #BiblicalFoundations #Truth #ChristianWitness #LightInDarkness 22 Mins
